Your starting salary will depend on a number of factors- mainly your teaching experience and education. |
| Taxes and deduction |
Income tax ( apprx. 3.00% ) , resident tax (10% of the income tax), national pension (4.5%) |
Taxes will be deducted from your pay checque on a monthly basis. Many employers exclude deductions for the national pension plan. |
| Overtime pay |
18,000~30,000 won |
Overtime conditions vary from school to school. |
| Paid vacation |
10~14 days per year |
In many cases, Most employers grant five days in the summer and five days in the winter for vacation. |
| Airfare |
The school provides a round-trip plane ticket |
When you sign the contract, one-way ticket is provided. The return ticket will be provided for you at the end of your contract. |
| Severance pay |
The school is paying the teacher 13 months salary for 12 months of teaching |
If you sign a one year contract your employer is required by law to give the teacher one month of pay upon completing the contract period. |
