E-2 visa (Foreign language conversation teaching)
Any person intending to lead foreign language conversation classes at a language school or an accredited school [effective as of Dec. 15, 2007]

Application for confirmation of visa issuance
- 1 half-card-size color photo of the applicant to be attached
1 photocopy of the sponsor’s certificate of business entity registration
1 photocopy of the sponsor’s certificate of registration of the school
1 photocopy of the employment contract
An affidavit of support from the employer
If the applicant is currently employed by another employer:
- 1 copy of both the confirmation of termination of employment and the notice of voluntary departure
A photocopy of the applicant’s passport
A resume
Documents evincing the applicant’s academic qualifications (choose one):
- The original copy and a photocopy of a degree certificate
- 1 photocopy of a degree certificate as notarized by the consul
- A document evincing conferment of an academic degree
- A diploma specifying an academic degre
Police certificate
An affidavit of support from the employer
Declaration of state of health
An official transcript sealed by the school
2 passport-size photographs


Police certificate (issued within the last six months)
To be issued and apostilled by the central or local government or a consulate of the applicant’s countryy
For a citizen of a country that does not have an apostille agreement with Korea:
- If staying in the alien's own country: To be notarized by a Korean consul in the country
- If staying in Korea: To be notarized by a consul of the alien’s country (no apostille)

For a citizen of a country that does not have an apostille agreement with Korea:
- If staying in the alien's own country: To be notarized by a Korean consul in the country
- If staying in Korea: To be notarized by a consul of the alien’s country (no apostille)

Declaration of state of health (in the applicant’s own handwriting)
- A medical certificate must be filed when applying for alien registration (issued by a national/public hospital, a community health center, or a general hospital)
* Any person failing to file a medical certificate or diagnosed as having used narcotics or to be HIV-positive shall be instructed to leave the country.(Required checkup components: Narcotics use and HIV tests)

Documents evincing academic qualifications
1 photocopy of a degree certificate as notarized by the consul
- To be notarized by a Korean consul or the Korean Council for University Education
A document evincing an academic degree or a diploma specifying an academic degree
- To be apostilled or notarized by the Korean Council for University Education

Eligibility for the issuance of a visa by a Korean consul in a third country (in principle: to be filed with a Korea consulate in the alien’s own country)
- Any person who has duly worked as a foreign language conversation teacher in Korea and has never been in violation of Korean law
Any person whose academic qualifications are verified by a publicly recognized organization established under the Korean Council for University Education Act
